Sharon Andrews' Reflection on Year 1 Social Inclusion Project

Sharon Andrews' Reflection on Year 1 Social Inclusion Project

09.12.2013

Sharon Andrews, one of the project’s participants, comments on her experience:

“When I met with the group, I was full of nervous anticipation. For me the Amiens project was not only exciting, but also a personal journey. I found as the project developed I gained confidence, and I also realised I had abilities that only became apparent during this experience. This was beneficial not only for work opportunities, but as personal growth.

When I look at the garden we produced I feel proud of what we have achieved knowing it has made a difference to many people. On a personal level, the project has worked for me as I now find myself in employment as a direct result of the project. I have been asked to assist in the management of next year’s project and am looking forward to passing on my experiences and to sharing and learning new skills from the new intake of participants.”
