Annie Slack, born in 1979, is a silversmith and an ironworker, whereas Anne -Marie O’Sullivan, born in 1972, describes herself as designer of shapes. Questioning the uniqueness of industrial products and optimising those made by hand, the former transforms metal into a variety of domestic objects, from furniture to light fittings and jewellery. The latter, on the other hand, uses natural materials such as willow and coppiced ash, evoking agricultural production, the curves of the landscape and ancient crafts in her work.
